1. 2023 PLS Sister School Convention and 50th Anniversary Party
The 2023 PLS Sister School Convention and 50th Anniversary Party were held on Sunday, May 28th.

2. Summer Close of Business
The PLS Head Office and Learning Aids Dept. will be closed from Monday, August 7 until Monday, August 14. Operations will resume from 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 15.
Regarding orders:
Orders made by 2 p.m. on Friday, August 4 will be shipped that day. Shipping will resume for any orders made after that on Tuesday, August 15.
If you will unable to receive deliveries during the summer break, please indicate your preferred delivery date on the order form.

3. Notices from Learning Aids Dept.
One of the activities played during the “Sample Bits” section of this year’s convention was Comparative Logic, a game to strengthen students’ listening, vocabulary, and creative thinking. It is also supported by a workbook for writing homework. While the workbook offers students one answer to each question, Comparative Logic also rewards students for thinking of their own alternatives.
At the convention, we used paddles for students to indicate their understanding of the question and to what extent they can answer it. These have been unavailable to order for some time, with a free, printable alternative available from the sister school website. However, we are pleased to offer limited stock of these paddles for orders. When stock is depleted, orders will be closed.
For schools which already have paddles, we will also release replacement answer panels. These can be exchanged onto the sticks you have to refresh aging paddles. Stock of replacement panels is not limited.
Prices:
¥1,500 per paddle
¥800 per set of laminated replacement panels (to make one paddle)

4. PLS Autumn Forum and Seminar Schedule
We plan to continue in-person seminars this autumn. This time, Seminar 3 will be held in Osaka only.
This year’s forum online on Sunday, November 26.
